Camping, Tents & Recreational Vehicles3

The use of tents, camping trailers, and recreational vehicles for overnight camping will not be permitted except in designated campgrounds or short-term guest activities on private residential properties.

Short term activities are limited to the following terms and conditions.

  • No more than one trailer ( or recreational vehicle ) must be stored on a year round basis, except by permission of the council, based on lot size, location and neighbouring properties.

Trailers must be stored at or beyond the building where possible.

  • Short term means 72 hours or less up to two times a year for a single trailer, no permit required.
  • By permit from the council, trailers may be used for special occasions, family visits, family reunions, etc.
    1. Single trailers up to 3 weeks per year.
    2. Multiple trailers up to 2 weeks per year.
    3. Occupied trailers must be at the building line or beyond where possible.
    4. For permit, council must be provided with information, to the council’s satisfaction, on the proper disposal of grey water and and sewer.
    5. Up to 6 trailers may be permitted based on lot size, locations and neighbouring properties.
  • No trailer can be connected to a residential septic system as per Dept. of Environment regulations.
